That farmers market run last Saturday saved me $40 on produce alone

I walked in planning to spend $60 but walked out with two full bags of veggies for $20 because the vendor at Stall 4 knocked down the price of his slightly bruised tomatoes, and now I'm rethinking my whole grocery routine.

That "gold mine" thing you said is pretty much it. People walk right past the ugly stuff not realizing it tastes exactly the same once you cook it. I've been doing this for years and honestly the vendors are happy to unload it because they'd rather sell it cheap than haul it back home. The key is to go later in the day when they're packing up and don't be shy about asking what they're trying to get rid of. They'll practically give you the stuff sometimes if you buy enough.

Honestly, bruised produce is a gold mine if you catch the right vendor at the right time. I always hit up the end-of-day deals at my local market and can stretch my grocery budget by half easy. Just ask politely about their markdowns and you'll be surprised how often they'll cut you a break.
