Hit 500 bucks in parts on my $800 Civic and it still runs like a top

Threw a junkyard transmission in my 92 Civic last month for $150 and it shifted smoother than I expected. Has anyone else been surprised by how long these old Honda motors hang on?

Bro, is this thing secretly powered by witchcraft or just pure Honda sorcery? My 95 has 300k miles and I swear the check engine light is just decorative at this point.

Drained $200 worth of ATF on the garage floor trying to get the fill plug out of mine. @anthony_fox90 that check engine light is just the car's way of saying it's still breathing. Threw a junkyard starter in last week for $40 and it fired up like it was 1993 again. These things run on spite and timing belt tension.
