Everyone says to paint everything white but my dark green kitchen wall was the best $30 I ever spent
Last month I got sick of my boring beige kitchen and bought a can of dark green paint on sale for $30. Everyone online says light colors make a room feel bigger, but I went for it anyway. It took me a weekend to do just the wall behind the sink. The change was huge. The dark color makes my white cabinets and plants pop in a way the beige never did. My kitchen feels cozy now, not just bigger. I think the 'always paint it white' advice is wrong for some spaces. Has anyone else tried a dark color in a small room and been happy with it?

Dark colors for the win.
Totally agree, the white-everything trend needs to stop. Cozy always beats just looking big. My bedroom is a deep navy and it feels like a hug, not a box. And @james_clark is right, you won't see every little stain. Dark paint adds mood and hides the mess from actual living.
