My brother swore by a $2 bag of frozen peas for protein, I thought he was nuts
He told me to add a cup of frozen peas to my cheap pasta for a full meal, said they have 8 grams of protein per serving. I tried it for a week and honestly, it filled me up way more than just carbs. But my friend says it's still not a real protein source and I should just buy beans. Who's right here?

Hey, your brother's onto something! Peas are a legit plant protein, and if it keeps you full, that's what matters. Your friend isn't wrong about beans, but why not use both?

Totally agree with you, @henry188. People get so stuck on picking the one perfect food when mixing things up is usually better. Your point about using both peas and beans is smart because variety just makes your diet more interesting and balanced anyway.

Honestly your brother is smart for that. Frozen peas are cheap, they keep forever, and yeah, they have protein. Your friend is getting stuck on labels. If it works for you and makes the meal better, that's a win. I used to do the same thing with ramen, toss in a handful of frozen peas and an egg. Felt way more like a real meal. Beans are great too, but sometimes you just want the easy option.
