I always thought dried beans were a waste of time until I saw the price difference at the co-op in Portland.

Nina's got a point about canned beans being convenient, but "cheap enough" depends on where you shop. At my local store, canned beans are like $2 a can versus a bag of dry for the same price that gives you three times as much. Soaking is just remembering to do it the night before lol.

Actually, the time spent soaking and cooking them totally kills the value. Canned beans are cheap enough when you factor in the hassle.
