PSA: A guy at my book club in Boise said he never reads the last chapter.

We were talking about 'Project Hail Mary' last month and he straight up told the group he skips the ending of every book to 'make his own.' It happened right after the meeting at the local coffee shop. How do you even have a real talk about a book if you don't finish it?

Wow, that is honestly wild to me. It feels like part of a whole thing where people just want the vibe of an activity without the actual work. Like having a bookshelf for show but never cracking the spines. How can you even know what the story is really saying? The whole point is the journey the writer takes you on, ending included. Skipping it just seems like you only want your own version of things, which misses the point of sharing a story with others.
