Bought a fancy book light for $45 and it died after 2 weeks

I picked up this LED clip-on light from a store in Austin for my late night reading sessions. It had three brightness levels and a rechargeable battery, but after 14 days the thing just stopped turning on. Has anyone else had bad luck with those expensive book lights or is there a brand that actually lasts more than a month?

My $15 one from Walgreens lasted like a year, so I used to think you were just paying for the name with those fancy ones. But after hearing this, I guess they're all just luck of the draw honestly.

Yeah that Walgreens light getting a year is pretty solid honestly, but I think there's a difference between luck and build quality in these things. Maybe it's just me but a lot of those clip-on lights use cheap micro USB ports that wear out fast, that's usually what dies first. Worth checking if it's the port or the battery before you toss it.
