That foreman's 2 word comment keeps echoing in my head

We were fitting a 48 inch steam drum at the Muskegon plant Tuesday and the old foreman just said 'check your math' after I laid out the bolt holes. He didn't raise his voice or anything, but I went back and found I was off by 5/16 of an inch on the second row. Why is it always the quiet push that sticks harder than any yelling or handbook lesson?

Funny how the soft words land harder than the loud ones every time.

Wasn't always true for me, but yeah, this hits different now. Took me way too long to learn that quiet honesty beats shouting every time lol.
