Hot take: I used a 3/8 drive on a 1 inch bolt because my 1/2 was across the yard and it snapped clean off

Holy cow, a 3/8 on a one inch bolt? I'm honestly impressed it even started to turn before it let go.

Yeah, well, I've always been an optimist when it comes to tool limits. Gave it a few gentle taps with a hammer first, you know, to encourage it. Honestly, the sound it made when it finally gave up was kind of sad. Like a tiny metal sigh. Lesson learned, but it was a fun three seconds.

Man, that tiny metal sigh is the worst sound. Reminds me of when I tried to use a cheap socket on a rusty lawnmower blade nut. It didn't just sigh, it sort of crumbled into two pieces. I was left holding the rounded-off ring part like a sad trophy. Nathanbennett is right to be impressed yours even turned, mine just gave up instantly. Sometimes the tool tells you no before you even start, you know? What's the most dramatic tool failure you've ever had?
