Found a stat about how many game nights the average board gamer hosts per year

I was scrolling through a survey from Board Game Geek last night (you know, the annual one they do) and stumbled on this fact: the average board gamer hosts about 12 game nights a year. That's basically one a month, which surprised me because I thought it'd be way higher for us die-hards. I mean, I personally try to hit at least 20 a year with my group, but maybe that's more than normal? Has anyone else seen that number and thought it felt low?

Wait, do you really think 12 is low? Thats like one weekend night a month where you're commited to board games. Most people have jobs, kids, or other hobbies. I know a ton of people who consider themselves board gamers but only pull games out at parties or holidays. Maybe once every few months. So 12 feels pretty accurate for the average person who buys a few games but doesnt treat it like a lifestyle. You hitting 20 is great but you're probably in the top 10 percent of dedicated players. Plus think about it, hosting takes real effort cleaning the house, making snacks, setting up, herding cats with schedules. Most folks just don't have the energy for more than one a month.

Yeah what worked for me was just making it less of a big deal. No snacks, no cleaning. Just pizza and pull out a game. Suddenly I'm hitting 20+ easy. @johnson.ryan the hosting effort is a real killer honestly.
