My old hand crank blower seized up last winter. I mean, the switch to gas felt like cheating at first, but the heat control is just so much easier. I still miss the smell of that coal smoke though.

Man, that coal smoke smell is something you just can't fake. It's like the whole neighborhood knew you were getting the forge going. I get the guilt though, switching to gas feels too clean, but you can't beat setting a precise temp and walking away. Do you ever fire up the old one just for fun anymore?
