Dropped $140 on a used anvil from a farm auction in Guthrie, half the face is beat to hell
Still hammers steel better than the $40 cast iron one from Harbor Freight that dented on my third strike. Any of you ever had luck dressing a swaybacked face back flat, or is it just a paperweight now?

Ever try fixing something and make it worse? I took a flap disc to mine and turned a small sway into a valley, so now I just work around the low spot. Your face might still be fine if the edges are solid, since a little dip just means you learn where to land the hammer.
