Changed my mind about buying a cheap anvil stand
Spent $150 on a heavy-duty steel stand after my old wooden one cracked, and it made my hammer strikes way more solid. What's the best way you've found to mount your anvil?

Read a forum post where someone used a thick rubber mat cut to size under their anvil. They said it killed the ring without hurting rebound. @ben436's silicone caulk idea sounds similar for damping vibration. Both seem smarter than just bolting it straight to bare metal.
