My sister said she watches new shows on 1.5x speed to 'get through them faster'

We were talking about that new sci-fi series, and she said she speeds through the slow parts. I mean, idk, maybe it's just me but that feels like you're missing the whole point of a binge, you know? Has anyone else heard of people doing this?

My cousin does this with true crime docs. She'll watch the setup at normal speed, then crank it up for the trial parts. Tried it once and it just made me anxious, like I was late for something. Ruins the mood when the tense music sounds like chipmunks. Maybe tell her to just read a plot summary instead.

My buddy Greg watched the whole last season of Stranger Things on 2x. He couldn't tell me a single thing about the plot afterward.
