The message that got me to delete my hashtag list
Last week a woman named Carol from a Facebook gardening group sent me a private message. She said my posts were getting lost because I was using the same 30 hashtags every time, and the algorithm was basically ignoring me. She told me to start fresh with just 5 hashtags that matched each post exactly. Has anyone else had success trimming down their hashtag count like that?

That thing about them all blurring together is exactly it. When I cut down to 5-7 hashtags, I started actually checking which ones worked and swapping out the duds each week. Now I keep a little note on my phone with like 20 hashtags that are specific to my niche, and I pick the best ones per post instead of dumping the whole list. It forces you to think about what the post is actually about instead of just covering all the bases.

Totally agree! It's kind of like when you clean out your closet and suddenly you can actually see what you own. Same with hashtags - too many and they all blur together. I noticed my engagement went way up when I stopped spamming 30 tags and started picking just a few that really fit. Sometimes less really does give you more room to breathe.
