I thought more food meant more fruit, but they got tall and thin. Now I feed them every other week, and they're strong with lots of flowers.

Actually going to disagree hard here lol. My plants straight up die if I don't stick to a weekly schedule. Last year I tried skipping a week and my tomatoes got all weak and the leaves turned yellow. My cousin is the same way with her herbs. Maybe it's about the type of fertilizer? Wyatt_green has a point with his peppers producing on a set Tuesday feed. Some plants just really need that regular hit to do their best.
