A trend I'm seeing: online pressure to give away baking secrets
More bakers are getting direct messages asking for detailed recipes. It feels wrong to ignore, but giving them out can hurt your business. I'm still trying to find a good way to respond.

Used to feel bad ignoring those messages... but now I see it's basically asking for free work. Changed my whole view on it.

But isn't a favor just a favor sometimes? My buddy asked me to help move a couch last month, and I didn't send him an invoice. Where's the line between helping out and doing "free work"? Is looking at a website for five minutes really the same as a paid gig?

Oh totally. It's wild how this shows up everywhere once you notice. Like a friend asking you to "quickly" look at their website design, or a cousin wanting free tech support because you're "good with computers." It always starts as a tiny favor, but it's really asking for your skill and time for free. Realizing that has made saying "no" so much easier.
