TIL that expensive 'gaming chair' is just a rebranded office chair with a $150 markup
I fell for it last spring when I bought a flashy gaming chair from a popular brand for $400. The thing had neon stitching and a fake carbon fiber pattern, but the foam started flattening out after about 3 months. My lower back ached every evening after work. I finally got fed up and drove to a used office furniture warehouse in Atlanta. Picked up a Steelcase chair from 2018 for $60. The difference is night and day. Now I tell everyone I know to skip the gamer brands and just get a real ergonomic chair. Has anyone else wasted money on overhyped furniture like this?

Whoa, wait. Office surplus? For real? I thought those places were like dumping grounds for broken chairs and dusty monitors nobody wanted. Last time I checked one out, it was just rows of those giant beige printers from the 90s and a bunch of cubicle walls that smelled like stale coffee. You actually found something decent in there?
