A guy at the Arby's drive-thru in Tulsa fixed my boot loop
I was sitting in line after my phone bricked during a GPS reroute around a construction zone. The cashier handed me a receipt and said 'try holding volume down and power for 30 seconds, I do it for my grandpa's tablet all the time.' It actually worked right there in the parking lot. Has anyone else gotten random tech fixes from strangers in weird spots like fast food lines?

Wait, did you tip the guy? Because that's customer service above and beyond a roast beef sandwich right there. Honestly though, that's wild. I can barely get a cashier to make eye contact with me at Taco Bell, let alone give me a boot loop fix. Next time my PC bluescreens I'm just gonna drive through the nearest fast food joint and see if the teenager working the fryer knows the trick. Probably saved you a trip to the Apple Store too, so that's a win.

Man you're not wrong about the eye contact thing, but @parker_campbell, I've learned the hard way that fast food workers know way more tech than you'd think. One time a dude at a Checkers fixed my phone's wifi by showing me how to forget the network and rescan. Same with a chick at a Dunkin who walked me through clearing my browser cache for a stuck update. The trick is to ask them like they're the expert, not like you're judging them. Most of them are bored anyway and love showing off some random skill they picked up. Worst case they say no, best case you get your boot loop fixed and a free Arby's sauce packet.

Boot loop fix with a side of Arby's sauce" should be a Yelp review category by now, @parker_campbell. Honestly, if that tech-savvy cashier was working the drive-thru, I'm surprised he didn't hand you a receipt with the command line typed on the back. Maybe I should start ordering a combo meal and a USB-C cable next time my laptop acts up.
