That 40 inch smart TV I bought for movie night audio syncs worse than my old 2003 Toshiba with a VCR
Picked up a cheap TCL from Best Buy last weekend for our bad movie group. Figured it's just for watching garbage like The Room on a big screen so who cares. But the audio delay is driving me nuts. Lips move then the words come out half a second later. Tried messing with the settings for an hour, still off. Anyone else run into this with newer budget TVs?

Bet on it being something with how the HDMI ports handle audio formats... older TVs just passed the signal straight through but these newer ones try to "process" everything and mess it up.
