TIL my neighbor in Portland thinks chicken coops are ugly and it's been a thing for three years
Last week she finally called the city to complain, saying our setup was an eyesore, even though we built it with reclaimed wood and keep it clean. The inspector came out, looked it over, and told her it was fully up to code and to leave us alone. How do you guys handle neighbors who just don't get it?

Three years of stewing over a chicken coop. That's a long time to hold onto that kind of annoyance. It makes me think about how people get stuck on small stuff when they don't feel like they have control over bigger things in their life. The inspector shutting it down must have really burned her, but honestly a lot of neighbor drama boils down to someone wishing they had something better to focus on.
