Hot take: This broody phase has tested all my patience
She's been sitting on empty nests for weeks now. I just want my layers back in action.

Honestly though, that broody instinct is kind of amazing when you think about it. She's just doing what her body is telling her to do, and it means you've got a hen with really strong maternal drives. If you ever wanted chicks, she'd be your best bet. It's a pain for egg production, but it's pretty cool biology at work. Maybe she just needs a little more time.

Used to just see it as a hassle for sure, but you're right about it being cool biology. Changes how I look at a broody hen now.
