The shift from paper to tablets in our Denver hangar was way faster than I expected.

Two years ago, our whole team was still using those big paper binders for all the maintenance manuals and job cards. Then management pushed hard for the AvPro digital system, and within about six months, everyone was on tablets. The biggest change I saw was how much faster we could look up a specific wiring diagram or AD note, maybe cutting search time from five minutes to thirty seconds. But I've heard some older techs at other shops say they still prefer paper because it's easier to mark up and doesn't have battery issues. Which side are you on, digital or paper manuals?

My old shop's tablet died mid-job, had to dig out a greasy paper manual from the back.

I saw something about this the other day actually, someone was saying that paper manuals are actually way more reliable for quick fixes because you don't have to worry about batteries or screens cracking. But yeah, that "greasy paper manual" part got me laughing because I've definitely been there before with shop manuals that look like they survived a flood. It's funny how we still end up needing the old school stuff when the tech lets us down. Guess there's something to be said for having a backup that never needs a charger.

Honestly, I'd take a dead tablet over @sanchez.mia's greasy paper manual any day.
