Stopped blaming the connector after a grounding strap saved my week
I spent 3 days on a Cessna 172 in Phoenix chasing a nav light ground fault that kept flickering. Pulled the entire wing harness, checked every connector with the DMM, swapped the strobe power supply twice. Then an old timer from the next hangar walked over and said, 'did you check the bonding strap behind the gear tower?' That strap had corroded almost clean through, took me 20 minutes to fix. Now I always ohm out the airframe ground path before I touch any LRU, saved me on a King Air install last week too. Anyone else got a hidden ground spot that wasted their time?
