Shoutout to that time my Garmin 430W went from useless to perfect after a single database update
I was troubleshooting a G430W that kept giving bad GPS data on approach. The owner said it worked fine before. After 2 hours of checking antennas and coax, I realized the nav database was from 2019. Updated it to the current cycle and everything locked in immediately. Has anyone else had a simple database fix solve a nagging problem that seemed way bigger?

Oh man, I feel this one deep in my bones. I had a similar thing with a friend's G1000 setup where everything seemed fine on the ground but as soon as we got close to the field it would just lose its mind. We chased grounds and checked every connection for half a day. Finally someone asked when the database was last updated. Turned out it was three cycles behind. Loaded the new one and bam, locked on like it was brand new. It's wild how something so small can make you feel like you're losing your mind.
