My new habit of testing avionics with a toy laser pointer backfired hilariously

I thought it would help spot loose connections, but now the pilots think the plane is HAUNTED by a tiny red dot.

Lol gotta say, a toy laser is not the move for avionics. Those systems are crazy sensitive and you could actually interfere with something. Stick to proper test gear, my dude.

Last week at the repair shop, a guy used a phone flashlight to check wiring. I mean, it's like what @vera501 said, using toy gear on sensitive systems just asks for weird problems. Maybe it's just me, but I see this pattern all the time where quick fixes go sideways.
