I used to think those plastic filler spreaders were a waste of money compared to metal ones.

My coworker in the next bay made me try a flexible one on a tricky quarter panel curve, and it laid down way smoother with less sanding. Anyone have a favorite brand for those bendy spreaders?

Those Harbor Freight ones @fiona_scott44 mentioned are my go-to for curves.

Remember when everyone swore by those stiff metal putty knives? I had this old-timer show me how to cut the handle off a cheap plastic spatula from the dollar store. He used the bendy blade for getting into door jambs, and honestly, it worked better than half the "pro" tools I owned at the time. Sometimes the weird fix is the right one.
