Spent $400 on a filter that did nothing for my light pollution

I bought a narrowband filter last month hoping to cut through the city glow in my backyard shots. It barely made a difference in my stacked images from my Bortle 7 zone, just a slight color shift. What filters have actually worked for you guys in bad sky conditions?

Actually... narrowband filters aren't really for general light pollution. They're for specific emission nebula, like the Orion Nebula, and you need to pair them with the right camera. For just cutting the general sky glow, you want a light pollution filter, but honestly in Bortle 7 those only do so much. The real fix is driving to darker skies, which I know isn't what anyone wants to hear. That filter might still be useful if you try shooting some specific targets.

Sounds like we've all wasted money on that one.
