Just blew $200 on a fake 'ancient' coin from a sketchy online seller
Got super hyped about a 'rare Roman denarius' listed on a random auction site. The pics looked legit, so I bid and won it for two hundred bucks. When it arrived, it was clearly a cheap modern cast, way too light and the details were mushy. I'm so annoyed I didn't check the seller's feedback more carefully. Anyone know a legit source for verified ancient coins online?

Two hundred bucks for a cast copy is brutal. I've heard VCoins is a good marketplace where dealers have their reputations on the line.

Tell me about it, I once spent way too much on a fake that looked like it was made in someone's garage. VCoins saved my wallet, those dealers actually know their stuff and stand by it.

Ugh, I gotta disagree. VCoins has its own problems. I've seen overgraded coins there for crazy prices, and some sellers are just as shady. Their reputation system isn't perfect, it just feels safer because it's a big site. You still gotta know what you're looking at or you'll get burned. I'd rather take my chances elsewhere sometimes.
