Why does nobody talk about the Bradford pears in my town's new park?

They planted a whole row of them three years ago, and now every spring the smell is awful and the branches are already splitting. Has anyone else had to deal with a city choosing a bad tree like that?

Ugh the smell is the worst part lol. I honestly don't know why cities keep planting those things when they break so easy. Feel for you dealing with that every spring.
