Steel mauler vs gas saw for a 36 inch oak, the steel mauler won clean

Last month I had to take down a 36 inch red oak in a tight backyard in Salem. I brought my gas saw and my buddy showed up with his steel mauler, we timed each cut through the same trunk section. The mauler was 20 minutes faster and stayed sharp, while I had to file my chain twice mid-job. If you do big removals solo, borrow a steel mauler before you buy your next saw, anyone else made the switch and never looked back?

Wait til you hit some dirty wood or a nail, that mauler aint so sharp after 20 minutes then. Sounds like a fun experiment but nobody's switching to something that needs a workout every time they gotta drop a tree.
