Power steering fluid is a new one for me. I thought that stuff was basically just hydraulic oil with some additives. It must have changed a lot since the last time I looked at a bottle.

That slab crack might not be a big deal. I've seen plenty of older Denver homes with hairline cracks in the foundation that have been stable for decades. Is it actually shifting or is it just a surface thing? A lot of times it's just cosmetic settling from the clay soil. You need to check if water is getting in or if the crack is getting wider.

My buddy Jake put one on his old Silverado with 200k miles. He showed me the plug after the first oil change and it looked like a tiny steel wool pad was stuck to it. That really makes you wonder what's floating around in there, right? It's like @michaelnguyen said, the filter doesn't get everything. Jake swears it's the best ten bucks he ever spent on that truck.
