Third Samsung fridge this year with the same ice maker issue

I swear I'm about to start turning down Samsung calls. Last Tuesday I get to a house in Phoenix where the ice maker just stopped working, no error codes or anything. I replaced the auger motor 3 months ago on the same model for a different customer. Then last week I had another one where the ice maker was making this grinding noise for 2 weeks before it died completely. I'm starting to think they just design these to fail after 18 months. Anybody else seeing more of these than usual?

Yeah pull the ice maker harness connector and check for voltage with a multimeter cause it's usually a bad main board.

@the_kelly is right, it's usually the board. Everything now is built to die a week after the warranty.
