I finally stopped shaking my developing tank like a madman after a roll of 120 came out all chevroned last summer at a rental cabin in the Poconos.

Turns out slow inversions twice a minute work way better than my aggressive agitating method, has anyone else wrecked a whole roll from being too rough?

Yo, did you check the temp consistency too? I messed up a roll of Delta 100 last winter when I was shaking it like I was on a roller coaster at Six Flags. The whole thing came out with weird uneven streaks and some chevron action in the midtones. I switched to slow inversions every 30 seconds and tapped the tank gently to knock off bubbles, which fixed it completely. Patience is key, man. Its like making a smoothie, not a milkshake, lol.

Wait, are you saying slow inversions worked better than the standard agitation for Delta 100? I might have to try that next time, @sean_murray. I've always been pretty aggressive with my tank, like you said, treating it like a milkshake. But you're right about the temp thing too, I had a batch last summer that came out all splotchy because my darkroom was way warmer than the developer. Tapping the tank to knock off bubbles is a good tip, I've been dealing with those little bastards for years.
