Vent: Last Tuesday was an absolute nightmare from hell

I had three residential installs lined up in the west side of town. The first one had a panel that was dead out of the box, swapped it and then the second house had a disconnected phone line that the homeowner swore was working. By the time I got to the third, I found a basement ceiling full of old knob and tube wiring that was still live and not labeled anywhere. Has anyone else had a day where everything just lined up against you like that?

That dead knob and tube in the third house though, that's the kind of thing that makes you want to just walk away (and maybe report it to the fire marshal). Did the homeowner know it was there and just not tell you, or did they seem genuinely surprised when you found it? I've had that exact situation before where the homeowner "forgot" to mention the live, unlabeled wiring from the 1920s in the ceiling. It makes you wonder how much other sketchy stuff is hidden behind the walls, you know? Your day sounds like a perfect storm of everything that can go wrong in this trade, all packed into one shift.
