That phantom zone 3 fault that ate my whole Tuesday
Installing a new panel in a split level on Summit Ave, and every zone tested fine until I connected the keypad. Then zone 3 would randomly trip at 3am even with nothing wired to it. I spent 6 hours checking resistors, swapping terminals, even pulled the whole wire run back to the board thinking it was a short. Turned out the keypad's own internal tamper switch was loose, set off the zone because the panel mapped it to input 3 by default. Has anyone else had a keypad cause a phantom fault like that, or was I just the lucky one?

Three AM on a Wednesday last fall I had a deer trip a driveway sensor on a job so bad I drove back out there in my slippers thinking someone was breaking in. Turns out the deer just really liked the salt block I'd left near the conduit. Spent an hour watching it stare at me through the security cam before I figured it out.
