Hot take: I used to think air fryers were just mini ovens until my coworker proved me wrong at the office potluck
I was standing by the snack table at our office potluck last Tuesday when Brenda from accounting pulled out a basket of the crispiest tofu I've ever had from her air fryer. She said she preheated it at 375 for exactly 3 minutes before tossing in cubed firm tofu tossed in cornstarch and soy sauce. Has anyone else had a moment where a single bite totally changed your mind about air frying?

Preheat is key, people skip that and wonder why things come out soggy. Cornstarch and a little oil spray makes all the difference for getting that crunch without deep frying.

This whole shortcut mentality ruins so many things. Same with people rushing recipes or not reading instructions all the way through first. Preheating and prep work, @margaret_nelson, that patience pays off every time.
