Honestly it shows a weird gap that happens a lot now. People get to the top by selling a vision or raising money, not by knowing how the stuff actually works. You see it with bosses who don't get basic tech, or landlords who have no clue about plumbing. It creates this layer of people making big calls on things they barely understand, and everyone else has to work around it.
