That one time a guy on here said AI art would kill the tattoo industry
Remember when u/ink_dad45 said AI generators would put tattoo artists out of business by 2026? I showed his post to my tattoo guy last month and he laughed, then showed me 4 clients that week who brought in Midjourney designs for him to redraw. Has anyone else seen AI actually helping traditional artists get more work?

Heard a shop owner say it's just a new tool for references, not a threat.

Wait didn't someone post on here last week about a tattoo apprentice who got caught tracing AI images and then tried to pass them off as original flash? That whole thing was a mess. I think the shop owner might be right for some artists but it really depends on how you use it. Some people are probably just feeding prompts into an AI and drawing exactly what comes out without changing anything. That feels different than using it for pose references or composition ideas.

Wait, 4 clients in ONE week with AI designs? That's insane. Never thought people would actually pay for that. @ryan_carr59's shop owner friend might be onto something though, if artists are just using it to save time on references.
