Paid $200 to explore an old school and got locked in

Found a listing for an abandoned elementary school tour outside Detroit for $200 per person. Supposed to be a guided walkthrough with safety gear included. The guide left us alone for 20 minutes and the door swung shut behind us. Took an hour to find a busted window to climb out. Has anyone else paid for a curated abandon tour and gotten more than they bargained for?

Paid $200 to explore an old school and got locked in" sounds about right for my luck. Last time I tried something like that I paid $150 to tour an abandoned insane asylum and the guide spent the whole time talking about how the place was definitely haunted just to freak us out. Then the lights flickered and I screamed so loud my friend still brings it up at parties. At least you got a good story out of it though.

I went to one of those "haunted" prison tours near Joliet a few years back. Paid $80 and the tour guide told us we could get out anytime we wanted, then locked the cell door behind us for ten minutes. I spent the whole time pressed against the back wall humming "Amazing Grace" to myself. My buddy still has a video of me jumping at a mouse that ran across the floor.
