Hit 50 abandoned sites in my county alone. That number feels way too high.
Just finished logging all my visits. Found 50 forgotten spots within 30 miles of home. Old mills, empty schools, a whole shut-down motel on Route 9. Makes you wonder how a place just gets left behind like that. Do you think that many abandoned spots is a sign of bad times, or just normal change for an area?

Wait, you found a whole abandoned motel just sitting there?

Honestly that sounds pretty normal for any older area. Places change, stuff gets built somewhere else. It's not always a bad sign, just how things go.

Exactly, neighborhoods have life cycles just like anything else. A quiet main street might just mean the action moved to a new shopping plaza a few miles away. It's not decay, it's just a shift in where people gather.
