Found a forgotten train station near my town and the silence was different.
I went in expecting just old stuff, but the quiet there felt heavy, like the building was holding its breath. Anyone else get that feeling in a place that's been empty a long time?

@amy858 nailed it with that "quiet felt thick" thing. That's exactly what I'm talking about. Heavy silence is real, not just stale air like @mason.paige said. I've been in dusty basements at the hardware store and that air just makes you cough, it's totally different from this. The difference is the building itself feels aware, like it's holding its breath waiting for something. You can't fake that with just dust, man. I bet that station had stories it couldn't tell.

Honestly sounds like you just got spooked by an old building. That heavy feeling is probably just dust and stale air, not some deep vibe. Our brains make up stories in quiet places, it's normal. Don't read too much into it.

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. I explored an old factory once and the quiet felt thick, like it had weight to it. I just sat on the floor for a few minutes and listened to the little sounds, a drip of water somewhere, the creak of the building settling. It stopped feeling scary and just felt... still. Like the place was finally resting.
