Still mad about that dead GPU I bought off Craigslist last month

Driving all the way to Lynnwood for a "working" GTX 1070. Dude swore it ran fine. Got home, plugged it in, black screen and fan spin for 2 seconds then nothing. Tried reseating it, different power cables, still dead. How do you guys handle flaky sellers like that without losing your mind?

Did you notice how some people on Craigslist are just really good at talking smooth but have zero follow-through? In my experience, if they're pushy about meeting in a parking lot instead of their place, that's a red flag right there. Take it as a lesson learned - I always ask for a quick demo before handing over cash now, even if it feels awkward.

Flip it around on them right before you hand over the cash. Ask them straight up, "If this thing dies on me tonight, what are you going to do about it?" Their answer will tell you EVERYTHING. If they hem and haw or say "I'm not responsible," you know to walk away. Did the seller try to rush you through the exchange or avoid answering questions about the card's history?
