Wait, it actually attacked the mat itself? Like, the rubber? My cats ignore mine completely unless I'm on it. That's wild. What's even there to hunt, the smell? Maybe it thought the pattern was bugs. I'd be worried about claw marks and little bites taken out of the thing.
