Bought a cheap paint sprayer from Harbor Freight last weekend...
Tried using it to paint my fence and ended up coating half my neighbor's car in grey primer. He was cool about it but now I owe him a detail job and my fence looks like a dalmatian. Anyone else have a tool that cost more in cleanup than it saved?

Nah, cheap tools teach you respect for paint and prep work.

Totally agree. There's something about using a tool that forces you to slow down and pay attention. You learn real quick not to press too hard or drag a cheap brush sideways across a corner because it'll leave those nasty little hairs in the paint. It builds good habits before you ever get the fancy stuff. Your mileage may vary, but I think a lot of guys who started on pro gear never learned that lesson.
