A simple drawer fix made my home salon workflow way better.

Having dividers means no more tangled tools or lost time.

Read an article last week about how clutter literally slows down your brain's processing speed. Your post totally proves it - having a dedicated spot for each pair of shears or tube of color stops that mental scramble. Those adjustable dividers you can get at any container store are a game changer for fitting weird shaped bottles.

My garage was a total disaster zone until I got some of those heavy duty shelves. Just having a designated spot for spray paint cans versus motor oil changed my LIFE. Last weekend I needed a specific screwdriver and just... grabbed it. Didn't have to dig through a single junk drawer. The mental energy I save by knowing where things are is HUGE.

But honestly all that dividing and sorting becomes its own kind of chore. You spend more time putting things back in their perfect little slots than you ever did just finding them in a pile. For some people, seeing all their stuff out in the open works better than hiding it in a labeled box. That constant upkeep to keep a system perfect can cancel out any time you save. My brain works fine with a bit of a mess, it feels more creative and less rigid.
