Those designs have to work from every angle in the store. That pressure creates some surprisingly smart layouts.

You make a good point @amyc22, but I'd say they actually prioritize certain angles. The end of an aisle or a display you face while waiting in line gets the most thought. They know exactly where your eyes land when you're stopped or bored. A lot of the other views are just okay because you're moving past them quick. The smart part is guiding you to those key spots without it feeling forced.

Yeah, and @amyc22 is right about that pressure making them smart. It forces them to hide the boring stock stuff in plain sight while the good stuff pops. You end up seeing what they want without even noticing the trick.
