Used to think people were just forgetful or telling tall tales. Heard a landlord give the exact same "upgraded pipes" speech to me and then my friend who moved in later. Realized it's a script. They have go-to stories for every problem so they don't have to do real work. Changed my whole view on how they operate.

That's a classic landlord story. They reuse the same lines on everyone to avoid fixing things. Bet they told the next tenant too.
