Update: My crew thinks rush glass orders are smart, but I disagree

They say it helps projects move fast (you know, to please clients), but I've watched quality drop every time. It's just not worth the risk of a bad install.

On a project downtown, the glass subcontractor pushed for rush orders and it backfired. You're right to worry about quality. It never pays off in the long run.

Ever think rush glass was worth it? I used to, but not after all the callbacks. @the_richard's right, it never pays off.

Rushing glass can work if you've got a solid team you trust... but that's the real problem, isn't it? Finding installers who won't cut corners under pressure is nearly impossible. Most crews just see the faster deadline and skip the careful checks. You end up with callbacks that wipe out any profit from pleasing the client quickly.
