I spent $40 on a 'general discussion' guidebook that was just common sense

The book promised advanced tips for better forum chats, but it just said things like 'be polite' and 'stay on topic'. I feel like I paid for a list of things everyone already knows. Has anyone else bought a how-to book that was totally useless?

Oh wow, did they at least include the groundbreaking tip to breathe while you type? I bought a book on "digital wellness" that just told me to put my phone down sometimes. It felt like paying for a fortune cookie! Some of these guides are just fancy print for stuff your grandma already told you.

My buddy spent forty bucks on a "mindful tech" course. The big takeaway was to charge his phone in another room at night. His mom had been yelling that at him for years. He said it felt like buying an instruction manual for a rock.
